The "Sons of Jesse" is a homeschool enrichment for boys ages 6-13. Our purpose is to cultivate biblical manliness in young men. Meanwhile, our offering for girls is called "Daughters of Song," also for ages 6-13, and our purpose is to foster identity and self-worth through Christ.
On Mondays, we meet from 1:30-3:30 at Above WGV (314 Commerce Lake Dr #206, St. Augustine, FL 32095).
1:30-3:30: Sons of Jesse / Daughters of Song
If you are signing up more than one child, add one child at a time. Once the first child is added, you can go back and add a second (or third, etc.) to your cart.
Full Description
Each week, the Sons of Jesse--taken from 1 Sam 16:18--will study a man from the Bible as we begin to answer the question, What does it mean to be a young man in Christ? In addition, a male from our church community will share his passions, interests, or hobbies--and explain how God has fostered those abilities. But our time together is far from just a “classroom” experience. We will spend two thirty-minute periods outside playing different sports or games.
Sons of Jesse meets several needs: It gives homeschool boys meaningful interactions with men during the “school day”; it gives homeschool moms a much-needed break; it gets these boys outside and allows for a healthy release of energy; it forges closer relationships between homeschool children; it broadens a child’s understanding of the Bible; and it strengthens and deepens a child’s understanding of Jesus Christ.
Meanwhile, the Daughters of Song--taken from Ecclesiastes 12:4--will study an attribute of a biblical woman. As we dig in, we will begin to answer the question, What does it mean to be a young woman in Christ? But our time together is far from just a “classroom” experience. We will also spend journaling, creating art, singing, playing outside games, or competing in athletics.
Daughters of Song meets several needs: It gives homeschool girls meaningful interactions with other girls during the “school day”; it gives homeschool moms a much-needed break; it allows for a healthy release of creative and physical energy; it broadens a child’s understanding of the Bible; and it strengthens and deepens a child’s understanding of Jesus Christ.
